Go Gold in September
September is International Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Join us in honouring our heroes; children who are fighting cancer, those who have sadly lost their fight, families affected and the community who support them.
Initiated in 1997 by Gigi Thorsen and a group of parents in Utah, USA, the gold ribbon is now an international symbol representing unity with children diagnosed with the disease and their families.
Organisations around the world are now “going gold” in
support of childhood cancer awareness and the more awareness grows, the more funding is received for the cause.
The Adventurers Go Gold initiatives include:
- Perth City Goes Gold in September! We have the support of The City of Perth and numerous iconic buildings around our beautiful city will be brilliantly illuminated. Council House, The Bell Tower, The Old Mill, Elizabeth Quay Bridge and Perth Concert Hall all show their support by lighting up gold.
- Exclusive Raffle – With thanks to The Perth Mint we go gold in September by raffling off a 2.5oz gold bar to raise $15,000 for Childhood Brain Cancer Research at Telethon Kids Institute.
