Matthew Fitzgerald – Director
Matt Fitzgerald is a chartered accountant with extensive experience in the resources sector. He’s currently the Chief Financial Officer and Joint Company Secretary of ASX200 copper-gold mining company Sandfire Resources NL. Matt has previously worked in the Assurance & Advisory division of KPMG, and held a number of senior executive and board positions in both ASX and TSX-listed resource companies. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Western Australia. Matt enjoys keeping fit and healthy, playing golf and spending time with his family. Matt’s daughter, Abigail, is currently in remission from Medulloblastoma. Matt is the Team Leader for Japan 2017 and a Brainchild Butterfly.
Professor Moira Clay – Director
Professor Moira Clay is an Adjunct Professor in the Centre for Child Health Research at The University of Western Australia. Moira has occupied executive roles in three medical research institutes, including the Telethon Kids Institute (she was the Acting Director in 2012). She now leads her own medical research consultancy which supports institutes, universities, charities and hospitals nationwide. Moira has been actively involved with The Adventurers since 2012, both as an Adventurer and an advisor on medical research strategy.
Rick Parish – Director
Rick Parish is a Perth-based businessman, international safety expert, and co-founder of The Adventurers. Rick established The Adventurers in 2010 (with wife Emily and good friend Peter Wilson) following the diagnosis of his youngest son, Elliot, with brain and spinal cancer. Sadly, Elliot passed away in February 2011. Rick is the author of highly-acclaimed book, Beyond Fear, which recounts his operational experiences in the Special Air Service (SAS) Regiment and the now-defunct NSCA Victorian Division. Rick is married to Emily and has three sons, Lachlan, Harrison and Hudson.
Sarah Carter – Director
Sarah Carter is an oil and gas professional having worked in the industry for over 15 years in Australia, Canada, Indonesia and the USA. Sarah has experience in project management, building and executing strategic plans, risk managements and personnel management and leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering from The University of Melbourne. Sarah has two young children and enjoys hard gym sessions and travelling with her young family.
